It's not always easy to find your way through the many vegan and cruelty-free certifications!
Some vegan logos certify that a product does not contain any animal ingredients and that the products are not tested on animals, while cruelty-free logos mean that no animal testing has been done.
Here is a guide you can use for cosmetics and apparel :
Vegan certifications
These logos indicate that the products do not contain any ingredients of animal origin and are not tested on animals.
The sunflower of the "Vegan" label created by the British Vegan Society
The heart of the "Certified Vegan" label created by the Vegan Awareness Foundation (or Vegan Action)
"PETA-Approved Vegan" logo created by Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)
Cruelty-free certifications
The following logos certify that the products are not tested on animals, they may contain ingredients of animal origin.
The "Leaping Bunny" logo created by the CCIC (Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics)
The "CCF Rabbit Logo" created by the CCF (Choose Cruelty Free)
The "Cruelty Free" logo without the "and Vegan" created by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
